Community Outreach Ministry
Vestal United Methodist Church is able to share its resources in the community through providing funds for other organizations, congregational volunteers, and through providing space for meetings and events. Among the many groups using our the facility are:

The Antique Society of Broome County
A Rug Hooking Group
Stephen Ministry:
We have a number of certified Stephen Ministers providing one-to-one Christian care-giving to persons experiencing transition in their personal lives. These persons are available to church members and the community at large.
CHOW and the programs of BCCC:
We are strong supporters of all the programs under the auspices of the Broome County Council of Churches. Our congregation participates in the CHOW (Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse) Hunger Walk, collection of food for CHOW on a regular basis, Jail Ministry program and in many other ways.
AARP Tax-Aide:
AARP Tax-Aide is the nation's largest free volunteer-run tax preparation and e-filing service. We serve all ages and incomes with special attention to low and middle income tax payers. As our program continues to grow, we are continually recruiting dedicated individuals to join our team. Taxes aid is offered at our church from February 1 to April 15.
